I like writing journals. I consider this as the most comfortable and benefitial way to take notes of my inspiration and value of daily life. I used to keep a blog posting my journals frequently before I came to the US. That blog is wonderful! You would love it if you could read Chinese I promise. However, I wish my English writing were as good as with Chinese. To perfectly express my idea in English and develop it in an easily understandable way is so far so difficult to me. But, anyway, I am working hard on it now aiming to pass the exit exam and undertake English writing a little bit.
When speaking to my essay, there is a huge problem with the time manangement I think. I took a long time to deal with my idea in the essay everytime before I start writing. Even though, I got trouble with contents while half way in the writing. Consequently, I wasted lots of time on it and always got no time left to revise my vocabulary and grammar in a timed essay writing. Maybe it is the result of my journal habits. For example, the first narrictive essay took me about 2 hours to memorize and organize my experience so that I could choose a good story to tell. What's more I decided to delete half of my original story to emphasize another aspect when I've already finished most of the passage. I know I need more training to overcome this. Nevertheless, it is good to think over often when we write an essay that is unlimited in time.:-)

Great reflection, Luna. You bet, writing and THINKING take time. Nowadays we have little time to stop and think. Too bad. Email and messaging is fast and sloppy and almost always just pure fact without much imagination. Real writing takes time. I am not sure there is a RIGHT way to go about it.
